South Seas Mandate
South Seas Mandate was a colony in Micronesia (Oceania) that lasted from 1914 to 1945 CE, about 31 years. Its people spoke Japonic languages (Japanese, Ryukyuan).
Japan seized Germany's Micronesian islands in 1914 and governed them under a League of Nations mandate, settling tens of thousands of Japanese and Okinawans. US forces took them in 1944 to 1945.
