Empire of Japan
Empire of Japan was an empire in Japan (East Asia) that lasted from 1868 to 1947 CE, about 79 years. Its people spoke Japonic languages (Japanese, Ryukyuan).
The Meiji Restoration built an industrial state with a conscript army that beat China in 1895 and Russia in 1905. Militarists led it into war with China and the United States, ending in defeat and the atomic bombings of 1945.
