Lithuanian SSR
Lithuanian SSR was a state in Scandinavia and the Baltic (Europe) that lasted from 1940 to 1990 CE, about 50 years. The timeline colours it by the language of its rulers: Baltic (Lithuanian, Latvian, Old Prussian).
De facto a Soviet republic from 1940 to 1941 and again from 1944, after the Red Army occupied Lithuania in June 1940. Many Western countries kept recognising Lithuania as independent de jure. It re-established its independence on 11 March 1990, the first Soviet republic to leave.
