Austria-Hungary
Austria-Hungary was an empire in Central Europe (Europe) that lasted from 1867 to 1918 CE, about 51 years. Its people spoke Germanic languages (Gothic, Frankish, English, German, Dutch, Norse).
The Compromise of 1867 split the Habsburg lands into two states under one monarch. The assassination of its heir at Sarajevo in 1914 started the First World War, which destroyed it.
