British Cyprus
British Cyprus was a colony in Balkans and Greece (Europe) that lasted from 1878 to 1960 CE, about 82 years. The timeline colours it by the language of its rulers: Germanic (Gothic, Frankish, English, German, Dutch, Norse).
Britain took over Cyprus in 1878 as a protectorate under nominal Ottoman suzerainty, annexed it in 1914 after the Ottomans joined the Central Powers, and made it a Crown colony in 1925. It became an independent republic on 16 August 1960.
