Free State of Fiume
Free State of Fiume was a state in Balkans and Greece (Europe) that lasted from 1920 to 1924 CE, about 4 years. The timeline colours it by the language of its rulers: Latin and Romance (Latin, Italic, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Romanian).
An independent free state of 28 square kilometres around the city of Fiume, now Rijeka in Croatia, created by the Treaty of Rapallo in November 1920. The Italian Army expelled Gabriele D'Annunzio's forces that December, and Italy annexed the state in 1924.
