Republic of Mahabad
Republic of Mahabad was a state in Iran (Middle East) that lasted from 1946 to 1947 CE, about 1 year. The timeline colours it by the language of its rulers: Iranian (Median, Persian, Parthian, Scythian, Sogdian, Pashto, Kurdish).
Short-lived, unrecognised Kurdish state in north-western Iran, from 22 January to 15 December 1946, sometimes described as a Soviet puppet state. It held a small territory around its capital Mahabad and ended when the Iran crisis of 1946 was resolved.
