Northern Nigeria Protectorate
Northern Nigeria Protectorate was a colony in Lake Chad basin (North and West Africa) that lasted from 1900 to 1914 CE, about 14 years. Its people spoke Germanic languages (Gothic, Frankish, English, German, Dutch, Norse).
Frederick Lugard conquered the Sokoto emirates and ruled through the emirs, a model of 'indirect rule'. It was merged with the south into Nigeria in 1914.
