Muhammad Ali dynasty (Khedivate)
Muhammad Ali dynasty (Khedivate) was a state in Egypt (North and West Africa) that lasted from 1805 to 1914 CE, about 109 years. Its people spoke Turkic languages (Gokturk, Uyghur, Seljuk, Ottoman, Kazakh, Tatar).
Muhammad Ali, an Albanian officer, built a conscript army, cotton plantations and factories and conquered Sudan. His grandson Ismail opened the Suez Canal in 1869 but ran up debts that led to British occupation.
