Fiji
Fiji is a state in New Guinea and Melanesia (Oceania) that has existed since 1970 CE. Its people spoke Austronesian languages (Malay, Javanese, Cham, Tagalog, Malagasy, Polynesian, Maori).
Independent in 1970, Fiji went through four coups between 1987 and 2006, driven largely by tension between indigenous Fijians and Indo-Fijians.
