French Congo
French Congo was a colony in Lower Congo and Angola (Central and Southern Africa) that lasted from 1880 to 1910 CE, about 30 years. Its people spoke Latin and Romance languages (Latin, Italic, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Romanian).
Built on Brazza's 1880 treaties with the Tio king and coastal chiefs, the colony was carved up among concession companies that extracted rubber and ivory with forced labour.
