German South West Africa
German South West Africa was a colony in South Africa and Namibia (Central and Southern Africa) that lasted from 1884 to 1915 CE, about 31 years. Its people spoke Germanic languages (Gothic, Frankish, English, German, Dutch, Norse).
Germany claimed the coast after Adolf Lüderitz bought land at Angra Pequena in 1883. Its army killed tens of thousands of Herero and Nama from 1904 to 1908, and South African troops conquered the colony in 1915.
