Spanish Cuba
Spanish Cuba was a colony in Caribbean (Mesoamerica and Caribbean) that lasted from 1511 to 1898 CE, about 387 years. Its people spoke Latin and Romance languages (Latin, Italic, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Romanian).
Conquered by Diego Velázquez from 1511, Havana gathered the treasure fleets bound for Spain. A sugar boom after 1790 relied on enslaved Africans, and wars of independence began in 1868.
