Ayutthaya Kingdom
Ayutthaya Kingdom was a state in Thailand and Laos (Southeast Asia) that lasted from 1351 to 1767 CE, about 416 years. Its people spoke Kra-Dai languages (Thai, Lao, Shan, Zhuang).
Founded by Ramathibodi I on an island in the Chao Phraya, Ayutthaya sacked Angkor in 1431 and became one of Asia's great trading cities, home to Japanese, Persian, Dutch and French merchants. Burmese armies razed it in 1767.
