Holy Roman Empire
Holy Roman Empire was an empire in Central Europe (Europe) that lasted from 962 to 1806 CE, about 844 years. Its people spoke Germanic languages (Gothic, Frankish, English, German, Dutch, Norse).
Otto I's imperial coronation in 962 founded a loose empire of German, Italian and Bohemian lands under an elected emperor. The Reformation wars weakened it, and Francis II dissolved it in 1806.
