Western Chalukyas
Western Chalukyas was an empire in Deccan (South Asia) that lasted from 973 to 1189 CE, about 216 years. Its people spoke Dravidian languages (Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam).
Tailapa II revived the Chalukya name by overthrowing the Rashtrakutas. The dynasty fought the Cholas for a century over the Tungabhadra doab and broke apart as the Hoysalas, Yadavas and Kakatiyas went their own way.
