Kediri Kingdom
Kediri Kingdom was a state in Java and Eastern Indonesia (Southeast Asia) that lasted from 1042 to 1222 CE, about 180 years. Its people spoke Austronesian languages (Malay, Javanese, Cham, Tagalog, Malagasy, Polynesian, Maori).
Formed when Airlangga divided his realm in the 1040s, Kediri absorbed Janggala and controlled the spice trade from Maluku in a high period of Old Javanese literature. Ken Arok overthrew it in 1222.
