Lanfang Republic
Lanfang Republic was a state in Borneo and the Philippines (Southeast Asia) that lasted from 1777 to 1884 CE, about 107 years. The timeline colours it by the language of its rulers: Chinese (Sinitic languages).
A Hakka Chinese kongsi in western Borneo, within the Sultanate of Sambas, set up by Luo Fangbo in 1777 with its capital at Mandor. Lanfang citizens elected its leaders until a Dutch campaign in 1884 and 1885 ended its autonomy.
