Mughal Empire

Mughal Empire was an empire in Gangetic plain and Nepal (South Asia) that lasted from 1526 to 1857 CE, about 331 years. Its people spoke Turkic languages (Gokturk, Uyghur, Seljuk, Ottoman, Kazakh, Tatar).

Founded by Babur, a Timurid prince from Fergana. Akbar, Jahangir, Shah Jahan and Aurangzeb ruled most of the subcontinent and built the Taj Mahal; after 1707 it shrank to a Delhi court that the British ended in 1857.
