Bechuanaland Protectorate
Bechuanaland Protectorate was a colony in South Africa and Namibia (Central and Southern Africa) that lasted from 1885 to 1966 CE, about 81 years. Its people spoke Germanic languages (Gothic, Frankish, English, German, Dutch, Norse).
Tswana chiefs led by Khama III sought British protection against the Boers and Cecil Rhodes' company. Britain ruled the territory lightly from Mafeking, just outside its borders.
