Yeke Kingdom (Garanganze)
Yeke Kingdom (Garanganze) was a state in Congo Basin and Katanga (Central and Southern Africa) that lasted from c. 1856 to 1891 CE, about 35 years. Its people spoke Bantu languages (Kongo, Shona, Zulu, Swahili, Luba, Ganda).
Msiri, a Nyamwezi trader from the east, built a state in Katanga on copper, ivory and slaves. An officer of a Congo Free State expedition shot him in 1891, and Katanga passed to Leopold II.
