Qing rule in Mongolia
Qing rule in Mongolia was an empire in Mongolian plateau (Central and North Asia) that lasted from 1691 to 1911 CE, about 220 years. Its people spoke Tungusic languages (Jurchen, Manchu, Evenki).
The Khalkha Mongol princes submitted to the Kangxi emperor at Dolon Nor in 1691 to escape the Dzungars. The Qing divided them into banners, while Tibetan Buddhist monasteries grew to hold a large share of the men.
