British Malta
British Malta was a colony in Italy (Europe) that lasted from 1800 to 1964 CE, about 164 years. Its people spoke Germanic languages (Gothic, Frankish, English, German, Dutch, Norse).
Britain took Malta from the French in 1800 and made it a naval base. The island withstood heavy Axis bombing in 1940 to 1942 and was awarded the George Cross.
