Kingdom of Aragon
Kingdom of Aragon was a state in Iberia (Europe) that lasted from 1035 to 1162 CE, about 127 years. The timeline colours it by the language of its rulers: Latin and Romance (Latin, Italic, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Romanian).
Began in 1035 when Sancho III of Navarre died and his son Ramiro received Aragon, winning independence by defeating his brother García Sánchez III. Queen Petronilla's marriage to the Count of Barcelona created a dynastic union, and Alfonso II inherited both realms in 1162.
