Kingdom of Hanover
Kingdom of Hanover was a state in Central Europe (Europe) that lasted from 1814 to 1866 CE, about 52 years. The timeline colours it by the language of its rulers: Germanic (Gothic, Frankish, English, German, Dutch, Norse).
Set up in 1814 by the Congress of Vienna to succeed the Electorate of Hanover, it was in personal union with Great Britain until 1837, when semi-Salic law barred Victoria from inheriting. Prussia conquered it in 1866 after it backed the losing side in the Austro-Prussian War.
