State of Franklin
State of Franklin was a state in Eastern Woodlands (North America) that lasted from 1784 to 1788 CE, about 4 years. The timeline colours it by the language of its rulers: Germanic (Gothic, Frankish, English, German, Dutch, Norse).
Unrecognised state in present-day East Tennessee, created in 1784 from land North Carolina had offered to Congress and intended as the 14th state. After 1787 it ran as a parallel government alongside North Carolina, which regained full control after about four and a half years.
