Colony of Queensland
Colony of Queensland was a colony in Australia (Oceania) that lasted from 1859 to 1901 CE, about 42 years. Its people spoke Germanic languages (Gothic, Frankish, English, German, Dutch, Norse).
Separated from New South Wales in 1859, its sugar plantations used tens of thousands of South Sea Islander labourers, many recruited by deception or force in the practice called blackbirding.
