Carnatic Sultanate
Carnatic Sultanate was a state in Tamil south and Sri Lanka (South Asia) that lasted from c. 1692 to 1855 CE, about 163 years. The timeline colours it by the language of its rulers: Iranian (Median, Persian, Parthian, Scythian, Sogdian, Pashto, Kurdish).
Also called Arcot State. Aurangzeb made Zulfiqar Khan subahdar of the Carnatic in 1692, and its nawabs held the region under the legal purview of the Nizam of Hyderabad as Maratha and then British power rose along the Coromandel Coast, until 1855.
