Kingdom of Sikkim
Kingdom of Sikkim was a state in Bengal, Odisha and the northeast (South Asia) that lasted from 1642 to 1975 CE, about 333 years. Its people spoke Tibeto-Burman languages (Tibetan, Burmese, Newar, Pyu, Tangut).
Founded when three lamas crowned Phuntsog Namgyal as chogyal at Yuksom. Sikkim became a British and then an Indian protectorate, and a 1975 referendum made it a state of India.
