Colony of Singapore
Colony of Singapore was a colony in Malay Peninsula and Sumatra (Southeast Asia) that lasted from 1946 to 1963 CE, about 17 years. The timeline colours it by the language of its rulers: Germanic (Gothic, Frankish, English, German, Dutch, Norse).
Made a separate Crown colony on 1 April 1946 when the Straits Settlements were dissolved. Singapore gained partial internal self-government in 1955 and full internal self-government in 1959, then joined Malaysia on 16 September 1963, ending 144 years of British rule.
