British Mauritius
British Mauritius was a colony in Madagascar and Indian Ocean Islands (Central and Southern Africa) that lasted from 1810 to 1968 CE, about 158 years. Its people spoke Germanic languages (Gothic, Frankish, English, German, Dutch, Norse).
After slavery ended in 1835, Britain brought about 450,000 indentured labourers from India to the sugar estates, making Indo-Mauritians the majority.
