Kingdom of France (Capetian)
Kingdom of France (Capetian) was a state in France and the Low Countries (Europe) that lasted from 987 to 1328 CE, about 341 years. Its people spoke Latin and Romance languages (Latin, Italic, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Romanian).
Hugh Capet's descendants built royal power outward from Paris. Philip II took Normandy and Anjou, and Louis IX led two crusades. The direct line died out in 1328.
