French Cambodia
French Cambodia was a colony in Cambodia (Southeast Asia) that lasted from 1863 to 1953 CE, about 90 years. Its people spoke Latin and Romance languages (Latin, Italic, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Romanian).
King Norodom accepted a French protectorate in 1863 to escape Siamese and Vietnamese pressure. France recovered Battambang and Angkor from Siam in 1907 and ruled Cambodia within French Indochina.
