People's Republic of Kampuchea
People's Republic of Kampuchea was a state in Cambodia (Southeast Asia) that lasted from 1979 to 1993 CE, about 14 years. Its people spoke Austroasiatic languages (Khmer, Mon, Vietnamese, Munda).
A Vietnamese-installed government led by Khmer Rouge defectors such as Hun Sen fought a guerrilla coalition through the 1980s. The 1991 Paris Peace Accords led to UN-run elections in 1993.
