Maynila
Maynila was a state in Borneo and the Philippines (Southeast Asia) that lasted from c. 1500 to 1571 CE, about 71 years. The timeline colours it by the language of its rulers: Austronesian (Malay, Javanese, Cham, Tagalog, Malagasy, Polynesian, Maori).
A fortified Tagalog polity on the south bank of the Pasig, which Portuguese and Spanish accounts equated with the Kingdom of Luzon. Oral traditions claim a founding in the 1250s, but archaeology points to around the 1500s. Legazpi declared it the Spanish city of Manila in 1571.
