Tanganyika Territory
Tanganyika Territory was a colony in Swahili Coast and East Africa (Central and Southern Africa) that lasted from 1919 to 1961 CE, about 42 years. Its people spoke Germanic languages (Gothic, Frankish, English, German, Dutch, Norse).
Britain governed the former German mainland as a League of Nations mandate and then a UN trust territory. Julius Nyerere's TANU party led it peacefully to independence in December 1961.
