Isaaq Sultanate
Isaaq Sultanate was a state in Horn of Africa (North and West Africa) that lasted from 1750 to 1884 CE, about 134 years. The timeline colours it by the language of its rulers: Cushitic (Somali, Oromo, Beja, Afar).
Sultanate of the Isaaq clan in modern Somaliland and Ethiopia. Guled was crowned its first sultan in July 1750, and caravans passed through Hargeisa on the way to Berbera. British treaties with coastal clans from 1884 brought it into British Somaliland.
