Pagaruyung Kingdom
Pagaruyung Kingdom was a state in Malay Peninsula and Sumatra (Southeast Asia) that lasted from 1347 to 1833 CE, about 486 years. Its people spoke Austronesian languages (Malay, Javanese, Cham, Tagalog, Malagasy, Polynesian, Maori).
Adityawarman, a prince raised at the Majapahit court, founded this Minangkabau kingdom in the Sumatran highlands. It became a court of ritual prestige and ended during the Padri War, when the Dutch took control in 1833.
